This is a full-time position working 3.5 days per week, 12 hours per day, to support the 24/7 needs of the company. This position requires an organized individual, who is self-motivated and can work independently and perform assigned tasks efficiently with minimum supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and strong reading, math, writing, analytical, skills required.
- 2+ years’ experience in operation and maintenance of Ammonia Refrigeration system.
- 2+ years experience with Boilers
- Experience with Air Compressor‘s and Air dryers
- Electrical experience and troubleshooting in low and high voltage circuits, motors, and controls.
- Having HVAC experience with refrigerants R-22, R-134a, R-404A, R-407C and R-410A is preferred
- Basic knowledge of computers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform physical work in all conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Must be able to stand or be on his/her feet for long periods of time on hard surfaces. Will be required to perform continuous and repetitive motion, including: lifting, pushing and pulling product and/or objects, as well as bending, twisting and reaching with the torso and ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel along with reaching with hands and arms. The product or objects may weigh in excess of sixty pounds. May work in either hot areas or refrigerated areas for long periods of time. Plant environment will include wet, damp, cold, slippery and loud conditions with moving parts and vibrating parts. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud when in the production and powerhouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):
The purpose of Utility Refrigeration Technician is to maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventive maintenance and install equipment within and around the facility to keep the production operational and have zero loss of production.
- This individual will perform the duties of a Refrigeration Technician and assist other maintenance personnel on his/her shift and will be responsible for all necessary paperwork and documentation as they relate to the job.
- Make rounds keep logs of daily operations and events for the engine room and refrigeration equipment throughout the facility.
- Maintain and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels / recirculators, purgers, evaporators / RMAU’s, heat exchangers, and control valves / isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Pass a physical, pulmonary test, respirator fit test and meet the requirements for Haz-Mat team (Must be able to wear a Level A chemical suit) on an annual basis.
- Perform assigned tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Perform Line & Equipment Opening procedures.
- Obtain RETA 1 and 2 Certificates within 2 years
- Obtain boiler certification.
