The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented person to join the team at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI) in the role of Medical Transcriptionist. CHMI provides active inpatient treatment to adults, adolescence and children who are in need of acute psychiatric services.
This is a full-time opportunity with a Monday-Friday work week. Pay range for this position is $15.14 - $21.87 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package. We also offer a strong opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience equal to one year of full-time work involving word processing functions such as: text editing and formatting, document storage and retrieval, and document merging;
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to six months of full-time work as a Word Processor 1.

The Medical Transcriptionist will perform transcription using the Dolbey Fusion transcription system. Important duties include proofreading completed documents and correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors. The Medical Transcriptionist also participates in the testing and debugging of new word processing programs, performs filing, coding, and routing, and develops a working knowledge of the Dolbey Fusion transcription system, and standard office equipment including fax machines, microfilm, and electronic typewriters.
