Laundry Worker 1 - Mental Health Institute, Cherokee

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Laundry Worker 1 to join the team at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI). This is a  full-time opportunity with a 40 hour work week.  We also offer a strong opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.  

Salary Range: $30,617.60 - $44,075.20/annually

Job duties include laundry as well as housekeeping responsibilities. Laundry is done in a commercial laundry setting and includes operation of commercial washers and dryers, weighing loads, selecting correct settings for different laundry types, folding of all laundry and delivery of laundry to areas of the hospital. Housekeeping duties include mopping, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing and general cleaning of both patient and non-patient areas throughout the hospital. They also include trash collection and completion of disinfecting procedures. The successful candidate should be hard working, courteous, punctual and have a keen eye for detail. Prior housekeeping and/or laundry experience is a plus, but we can train the right candidate. This is a great full-time opportunity for someone looking for 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, with no nights, weekends or holidays. Daily hours are 6:30 PM – 3:00 PM.
