The Cherokee Country Club is accepting applications for the position of Golf Course Superintendent. The Cherokee Golf Course is a 9-hole golf course located in Cherokee, Iowa. It is a beautiful course in Northwest Iowa with a hilly terrain and a creek that runs through the course. The club is the site of the annual Sioux Valley Amateur Match Play Tournament, which is the oldest match play tournament in Iowa.

Duties:
  • Responsible for all phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations.
  • Plans, organizes, and carries out the maintenance of greens, tees, collars, fairways, and rough.
  • Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
  • Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemical/fertilizers used on the course.
  • Manages an aggressive water usage plan.
  • Ensures all golf course policies and procedures are followed including working closely with the board members.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Wage: Salary is negotiable and dependent upon qualifications and work experience.
