Best Practice Behavior Coach, Northwest Area Education Agency - Cherokee

Northwest AEA is looking for a Best Practice Behavior Coach to provide support to assigned schools to improve academic, social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for students.

• Master’s degree or specialist degree in the area of Behavior Analysis, Education, School Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, or School Social Work
• Iowa BoEE license: Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Master Educator, School Psychologist, or Statement of Professional Recognition.

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with LEA and AEA personnel, parents, and families to improve student social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
• Collaborate with AEA and LEA staff to provide support to general education and special education personnel.
• Provide professional development to teachers and support staff as appropriate.
• Assist AEA practitioners in completing functional behavior assessment and implementing behavior intervention plans with children/students who display challenging behaviors.
• Connect and provide technical assistance to districts with professional learning opportunities to address their specific needs and desired goals.
• Maintain knowledge of current research-based strategies and instructional practices for students with social, emotional, or behavioral disabilities.
• Support the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of district implementation plans and provide technical assistance to districts with professional learning opportunities to address their specific needs and desired goals.
• Provide support for the implementation of effective MTSS frameworks by serving on agency wide AEA teams within respective areas of content expertise.
• Collaborate, demonstrate, coach, and provide feedback to special education instructional personnel in behavior strategies and practices to accelerate learning for students with disabilities.
