The Agronomy Support Technician will spend their time conducting data collection operations in a safe, timely and efficient manner. As an Agronomy Support Technician, you will effectively employ all available resources and technology to provide customers with the excellence of agronomic information and service generated by ServiTech, Inc.

What You’ll Need to Do This Job:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • An Associate degree in agriculture or related major 2 years of agriculture experience is preferred
  • Willing to work weekends, holidays and long hours as required
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions, cold, snow, rain, wind, sun etc.
  • Willing to travel within territory, as required
  • Experience operating all-terrain vehicles (ATVS and/or UTVs)
  • Mechanically inclined, experience performing routine maintenance, daily care and minor repairs
  • Ability and experience operating larger motor vehicles (e.g., pick-up truck)
  • Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and detailed oriented
  • Capable of working independently and in teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • A desire to be involved in agriculture and work for a Cooperative
  • A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and the ability to travel for hours at a time
  • Physical ability to sit for long periods of time and walk fields daily during peak seasons
  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend and kneel when performing routine job duties
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and possibly get in and out of (and up and down from) large equipment
  • Physical ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Duties:

Data collection operations includes: soil sampling, plant tissue sampling, field boundary mapping, aerial drone imaging, and equipment operations data. This position requires a general understanding of Agronomy as well as a desire to learn about ServiTech’s products and services. This position requires excellent time-management and communication skills as well as a thorough attention to detail. Additionally, frequent follow-up with clients is expected, and regular status updates with agronomy staff is required. This position is based on the farmers’ needs and therefore fluctuates as far as hours worked during peak seasons which include long days, weeks, and months as needed.
