Cherokee County's strategic Upper Midwest location lowers transportation costs for both supply and distribution east and west. NAFTA shippers will profit from the excellent access to north-south rail and highway systems.

HIGHWAYS
U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 3 serve the immediate area. Interstates 29, 80, 90 and 35 are nearby. US 20, currently being improved to a four lane divided highway across Iowa, connects to Chicago and is within 20 minutes.
MOTOR FREIGHT
3 intrastate and 6 interstate truck lines serve Cherokee County. UPS, Airborne and Federal Express serve the community on a daily basis. All of the major markets of the U.S. are within hours by truck. Local warehousing and just-in-time delivery services are available.

RAILROADS
Cherokee County is served by the Canadian National/Illinois Central Railroad providing direct routes to the West Coast and Texas-Louisiana shipping ports. Twice per day switching for local customers is available.

AIR SERVICE
Commercial air service is available in less than an hour's drive at the Sioux City Gateway airport.

The Cherokee Municipal Airport, a level 2 airport, is home to 44 corporate and personal aircraft. Hy-Vee Food Stores, a Midwest grocery chain, houses their fleet in Cherokee. The 4,000-foot concrete runway serves a variety of both jet and prop aircraft. Flight instruction and aircraft rental are available. The Cherokee Flying Club and the Airport Commission sponsor a very successful annual flight breakfast each May averaging more than 1000 people in attendance. WATER & INTER-MODAL TRANSPORTATION
Both barge and inter-modal facilities are available in Sioux City approximately 50 minutes away.
